During the meeting a declaration was signed calling for concerted global action on climate change, ahead of the UN climate conference in Copenhagen this December.

After the meeting, a short press conference was held (in the water) and the president answered the questions. A number of international journalists had attended to cover this event.

This meeting will be followed by a bicycle riding event in the streets of the capital Male’ in the afternoon.
